You will be conducting research on the Web to learn about a career of your choice, beginning with the career links listed on this page. You will collect facts and statistics, and then prepare the following documents:
The research report MUST INCLUDE an embedded Excel chart with salary (or other) data. You might choose to show how the salary for the career you have chosen is expected to increase/decrease over the next ten years. OR, you may choose to show how the salary for your chosen career compares with other careers. OR, you may choose to show geographic differences in salary. (For example, if you are interested in becoming a computer programmer, where does Maine rank in terms of salary across all states?) The idea here is that you use Excel to illustrate an important point. The report must be at least 1,200 words in length and MUST INCLUDE a works cited page. 3. A database table and report (using Access) of a. Educational institutions that provide education/training for the career. (Fields should include name, address, phone number, web address, degree program, tuition, etc.) Minimum of 10 records. b. Prospective employers. (Fields should include name, address, phone number, web address, type of organization, number of employees, annual sales/revenue, etc.) Minimum of 10 records. 4. A slide show (using PowerPoint) that presents the most important aspects of your career in a visually appealing and informative way. You must include a title slide (name of career and your name).
