Math III
Prerequisite: Math II
Full year, 1 credit
Eleventh grade students enroll in one of the following three courses, depending upon their proficiency:
Technical Algebra I
This course is the third mathematics course for students who have completed Foundations in Math I & II. It is described on the preceding page under Mathematics I.
Technical Algebra II
This course is a continuation of the tech strand (Tech Algebra I, Tech Geometry). Several topics previously covered, such as data analysis, algebra, geometry, logic, and probability, are studied in greater depth. The use of technology and other themes from our physical world are found throughout the course.
Academic Algebra II
Prerequisites: Geometry, Academic Geometry or Honors Geometry
This course is intended for students who have demonstrated a sound understanding of the concepts studied in previous mathematics courses. There will be more emphasis on the structure of mathematics than in the Algebra II course.Topics such as trigonometry, logarithms and exponents, and complex numbers will be presented in more depth than in the Algebra II course.
