Ms. Nancy Roderick, is the founder as well as conductor and music director of the Coastal Youth Orchestra.
Nancy is well known for her enthusiasm and sensitivity in working with young string players and for her dedication to music education. Nancy performs with the Maine State Ballet Orchestra and with the Maine Chamber Ensemble. She has also performed with the Portland Opera Repertory Theater Orchestra, the Portland Symphony Orchestra and the Bangor Symphony Orchestra, as well as the trio Musica Sorella. Growing up in Brunswick, she played in the Brunswick Regional Youth Orchestra and later served as a BRYO conductor for more than ten years. Nancy currently is the strings teacher at the Merriconeag Waldorf School in Freeport and teaches private violin lessons to students of all ages.
Nancy is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Music CYO is indeed fortunate to have her at the helm.
