Percussion
- The percussion audition requirements are the same as for All State except that the mallet players will not be asked to play scales.
All students will play: Etude # 1 from 8 + 4 Three Minute Solos for Multiple Percussion, by Peter Tanner, published by Studio 4 Music
In addition, students will choose their major instrument and play the designated solo from Audition Etudes for Snare Drum, Timpani, Keyboard Percussion and Multiple Percussion - by Garwood Whaley, Meredith Music Publications

Percussion players- to get a copy of the music, either see your band director or order it yourself from Perkins Music House, or most any other music dealer.
Required Scales
All scales are to be memorized
All wind instruments will perform the following scales from memory as indicated on the scale sheets: E flat, A flat, D flat, C and F (concert pitch)
All wind instruments will perform the chromatic scale from memory- two octaves as indicated on the scale sheets.
All major scales are to be tongued and played at quarter note=120
