Guidance Staff and Professional Biographies Brunswick Area Student Aid Fund Application (BASAF)

FAFSA forms are available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov and in the Guidance Office. Copies of the Brunswick Area Student Aid Fund Application (BASAF) are also available. Please remember that the BASAF form and a copy of your FAFSA must be turned in to Mrs. Thiboutot no later than March 15th to qualify for the Brunswick Area Student Aid Fund.

    The Common Application

    The Common Application is the recommended form for 346 selective colleges and universities for admission to their undergraduate programs.

    Choices Planner Online Program

    The Choices Planner Online Program can help you find post-secondary schools, programs, financial aid, and course planning. The online program is available for all MTA students to use at school or at home. 

    To access the Choices program click here. You will need the site ID and password to create your account. If you do not know the site ID for Mt. Ararat, please visit the Guidance Office to receive an online course student registration card, which displays the school code (site ID) and password for Choices.

    Make sure you remember the unique ID and password you choose for yourself when you create your account, as this will be used for future logins.

    Stop by the Computer Center or Guidance to get a worksheet that includes more information about the Choices program.

    Career and Job Information

    Occupational Outlook Handbook: For hundreds of jobs, find information on training and education needed, earnings, expected job prospects, what workers do on the job, and working conditions. The handbook also offers job search tips, links to job market information by state, and more. Published by the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics.

    Directory of Community / Social Services

    The goal of the responsive services guidance counselor is to help students obtain appropriate support in order to maximize their educational potential. These services are provided either directly through the counselor or through referrals to in school resources (examples being the school nurse, the substance abuse counselor, the Student Assessment Team, or special services). Students and families may also be refered to outside agencies and services. To enhance this latter service, we are providing the following Directory of Community Services.
