Describes the reproductive stages, growth stages, migrating habits, feeding habits, and fighting characteristics of the lobster, and examines a small community of Lobstermen in Maine and the scientists that study the lobster.

After his mother's death, Skiff Beaman decides that it is up to him to earn money to take care of himself and his father, so he undertakes a dangerous trip alone out on the ocean off the coast of Maine to try to catch a huge bluefin tuna.

The next meeting of Books 'n Munchies will be Monday, March 13 at 2:15 pm.

For this month's Munchies, students need only read one of the two books. Copies of both are available in our library as well as the local public libraries that participate in Midcoast Community Read. See Mrs. Gordon for more details.
