Internet Use Policies

  • Students will have no reasonable expectation of privacy to any materials transferred by or stored within the network. Inspection can occur at any time and without any cause.
  • It is the responsibility of students using the computer not to access inappropriate materials. Library staff members shall be the final judge of the acceptability of materials.
  • Computers may not be used for chat, games or word processing.

Student Behavior

  • Students who come to the library must have a pass, except during their lunch period.
  • Students are expected to come directly to the library from study hall or class. Errands are permitted only with permission from a library staff person.
  • Students using the research area are expected to work quietly.
  • Students using the quiet study area are expected to work with no talking whatsoever. They must have work or reading to do for the entire period.
  • Students are expected to follow directions given by the library staff.
  • Students are expected to behave courteously and to respect other people and their property.
  • Students are expected not to move furniture and to sit no more than five people to a table.
  • Food and beverages are not permitted in the library.
  • Personal stereo equipment is not permitted in the library.
